The still lifes are not the palace
The other pictures here are props, photographed as props: beans and bread on a scrubbed table, an empty Roman street at first light, a lemon tree in a pot, an iron key on a stone ledge, travertine, sealing wax, an espresso, crimson velvet, wet cobbles, artichokes in a crate. Not one of them shows this building, a room in it, its gardens or anything hanging on its walls, and none is captioned as though it did. That line is deliberate and it is sharper here than on most sites: almost everything worth seeing in this palace is a specific object — a vault finished in 1702, a cannonball that landed on one flight of stairs in 1849, one painting on one wall. A picture of any of those has to be a picture of it.
